Below is a list services available in the MSI buildings. Please click on the service to read a description and obtain additional information on its use. Unless otherwise noted, most services are specific to the new Marine Science Building.
Building Services
- Phones
- Campus Phone lines are available. To request a phone line, report a problem, or change your phone servive, follow the link above.
- Keys
- The Marine Sciences building uses a security key card to provide access after hours, weekends, and holidays. In addition to the key cards, keys are available for individual offices and labs. Follow the link above to request keys, report problems, or request a change for the key card access.
- Mail Boxes
- The mail boxes are located on the 1st floor in the Grad Student Lounge. Follow the link for requests for a mailbox.
- Copy Codes
- The building copy room is available on the 1st floor. There is also a copier located on the 4th floor. Copy Codes can be requested from the link above.
- Conference Rooms & Auditorium
- There are 3 conference rooms available plus the Auditorium in the Marine Science Building. See above for descriptions and details on the systems installed in each room and availablity.
- Shower Room
- The shower room is located on the 1st floor. Lockers are available for day use only. The room is locked 24/7 with access availble through the key cards.
Lab Services
- Lab Facilites
- You can submit requests for use of lab facilities, and report problems within labs. Specialized Work Rooms & Equipment: capabilities, and requesting usage.
- Specialized Use Rooms

- Seawater Work Rooms: 6 rooms with running sea water
- Controlled Environment Rooms: Three 4° to 20°C rooms, one –2° to 10°C room
- Hazardous Materials Storage Room: for storage of larger quantities of chemicals
